Here are the top ways that you can opt for making rosewater for sunburn –

The Simmering Way

It is one the best and easiest forms of making rose water. First, separate the petals from the flower. You will need distilled water, a strainer, a pot, a sealed container or spray bottle and measuring cups.

Pluck the petals and separate them. Make sure you have 1 cup of full rose petals. Once you have acquired the right amount, clean the petal well in tap water to get rid of dirt or bugs.

Soak the petals in enough water to cover them. Add at least 1 and a half cups of water to the petals to get the desired result.

Place the pot on the stove bringing the water to a simmer. Once it does start simmering, reduce it to a lower setting. Leave it for 15 – 30 min until the petals have lost their color. Turn off the heat, leaving the lid on and let it cool naturally.

With the help of a strainer, separate the petals from the water. Discard the petals.

Use a spray bottle or jar to store the new and freshly made rosewater. It can be stored for up to a month in a cool place.

The Distilling Way

It is the traditional way of creating rose water. Though it is time-consuming, it has a clearer color with enhanced benefits.

Here is what you will need –

A glass bowl, ice, rose petals, a large pot, distilling water, a strainer and a sealer container

Remove the petals from the flowers. Get one cup of fresh petals. When you have the right amount, rinse it in tap water to remove dirt or bugs.

Take a small bowl in the middle of a large pot. It should be lifted upwards and not tilted. This will be beneficial for the pot lid.

Place the petals into the pot and also around the bowl before adding the distilled water. Take the pot lid and turn it upside down. The lid is mainly used for trapping steam inside the pot.

The ice will help in creating condensation inside while boosting the steam. The rose-infused steam will be collected in the upside-down pot. It will automatically drip into the bowl.

Once the ice starts to melt, remove the water and add more ice. Once the water in the pot comes to a boil, reduce the heat and bring the water to a simmer. It will take nearly 20-25 min to get the water.

Turn off the heat. Wait for it to cool before removing the lid and make sure no ice cubes remain. Remove the bowl from the pot before pouring the rose water into the spray bottle or jay. Store it in the fridge for up to 6 months.

The Crushing Method

It is the same as the simmering method, the preparation of the roses differs. It helps in creating a larger quantity of rose water.

Here is what you will need –

Distilled water, a large pot, a strainer, a mortar and a pestle.

Remove the petals from the flowers. Get one cup of fresh petals. When you have the right amount, rinse it in tap water to remove dirt or bugs.

Divide clean petals into two halves. Crush the first file with the help of a mortar and pestle it to extract the juice. The second part will be more emphasizing coloring.

Take the crushed juice into a bowl. Let it sit for 2-3 hours for the liquid to thicken. The rest should be set aside for 24 hours.

Take a pot and not a metal one. Bring it to a simmer on low heat. Once you see the bubbles, remove them from the stove and strain the water with the help of a strainer.

Seal it for 2-3 hours in the sunlight to draw the natural lights.
